Mrs. Welty's class ventured over to Western Piedmont's Alpine Towers for a day of team building and climbing. Freedom students worked with staff from WPCC, as well as students in the Recreational Therapy program to climb the 50 foot towers. Students learned about personal responsibility, planning and enjoying each other. After a team meeting to go over these team building words the group put them into practice. Each student had the opportunity to climb the tower. Some students climbed the logs, others climbed the net to reach the tree-house and two students braved the towers by being belayed by their new friends. The students learned how to push past their fears and learned something new about themselves! They had a wonderful time and are excited to go back next year.
