What's New at FHS....

  • Start a career in the construction trades or apply to be a Carolinas Health Care Blue Ridge Scholar
    WPCC's Continuing Education department will offer an Electrician's Academy from 6/3/19-8/8/19.
    It will overlap with exam schedules a little, but the instructor will work with students. This is a FREE class for all rising and current seniors through the CCP program. Students who complete this program will earn a certificate in Residential and Commercial Wiring, and will be employable upon completion. This class provides 200 hours toward the 2000 hours required for an electrical license, which students can accrue on the job.

    Are you interested in a career in healthcare? If so, please consider applying for the Carolinas Healthcare Blue Ridge Scholar Internship. 
    Attached are the Fall 2019 CHS BR Scholar (Internship) Application and information sheets can be obtained in the media center.  The deadline for applications will be May 31st. Please return to Amy Shuping at Freedom and Patton or TR Robinson at East Burke and Draughn.
    Students will be notified for interviews in June.

  • The annual FHS Student Art Show May 17th
    The annual FHS Student Art Show is now on display at the CoMMA through May 17th and can be seen for free, Monday to Friday until 5:00. To honor our student-artists, there will be an Artists’ Reception held after school, at CoMMA, Tuesday the 14th, and everyone is invited.

  • Congratulations to the FHS Quiz Bowl Team
    Catawba Valley Quiz Bowl league finals yesterday: FHS C continues to improve with 2 wins & 2 losses. FHS B was undefeated & captured 1st place in the Exhibition Division. FHS A finished 3rd place over all. Brandon W (league MVP) & Noah H named All-Star Team! Congratulations to Coach Rickertsen and the team!
